Queen energy: ‘SERVING’ Miriana from Malta
Miriana Conte is representing Malta at Basel 2025
Miriana Conte is pulling up to Basel, ready to dish up a sassy show at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. She’s representing Malta with ‘SERVING,’ and she’s gonna be real loud.
Dancing to Miriana’s vibe
Miriana Conte has a secret you should know – she’s about to have the time of her life at Eurovision. But before she got her ticket to Basel, she had to earn her place.
She was up against 15 other acts in the final of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest, where the island nation decides on its act. Miriana took her place on the stage, opening the show, and delivered what was to become her Eurovision entry.
Giving a stunning interval performance (which looked exhausting), was Malta’s 2024 artist Sarah Bonnici. She brought new music, a motorbike and her trademark dance breaks. Plus, what everyone was waiting for, her Eurovision song Loop.
After all the performances, it was a tight race to the finish. But Miriana won the public vote, and combined with a strong showing in the jury vote took the overall win.
Miriana will be bringing her song SERVING to Basel. As well as performing the song, she’s also part of the songwriting team. There’s some top talent behind SERVING , including British-Norwegian singer-songwriter Sarah Evelyn Fullerton, who co-wrote Cleopatra for Efendi from Azerbaijan for the 2020 Contest.
Muxu also joins the team, a Maltese singer-songwriter known for writing Maltese Eurovision entries and both of the winning Junior Eurovision entries, including Not My Soul by Destiny in 2015.
And while it might be Benjamin BNJI Schmid’s first time writing a Eurovision entry, the Swiss producer has delivered plenty of hits after collaborating with Universal and Sony, alongside top artists. He’s even worked with Remo Forrer, Switzerland’s 2023 Eurovision artist.
Having the time of her life
Miriana is a rising artist in Malta. She’s become known for her electrifying performances and her fearless approach to music. Her fun, bubbly character is evident after just a glance at her music video for SERVING, a song which quickly went viral after the Malta Eurovision Song Contest.
The 2025 Contest isn’t the first time Miriana has made a bid for Eurovision. In 2017, at the age of just 16, she entered the Malta Eurovision Song Contest with Don’t Look Down. She remembers seeing her name in lights for the first time, a moment she’ll never forget.
The song was an upbeat pop track with a catchy chorus and a hint of reggae. But it wasn’t to be. Several years down the line, she’s come back SERVING stronger than ever, ready to take Europe by storm.
As well as the whole of Malta, Miriana will have one special fan cheering her on – her dog Max. She loves him so much, that she has a tattoo of him.
Beyond do-re-mi
Just like her own song, Miriana likes to listen to bold pop tracks. Turn on her playlist of favourite tunes and you’ll hear Sam Smith’s Unholy, Katy Perry’s I Kissed A Girl, and Gwen Stefani’s Rich Girl. She also loves Eurovision winner Ruslana’s Wild Dances, which took the crown for Ukraine in 2004.
If she could sit down to dinner with any three famous people who’ve ever lived, Miriana would follow her musical heart. She’d choose Amy Winehouse, Whitney Houston, and Sam Smith.
If you want to hear Miriana on the karaoke (and who wouldn’t?) then it’s best to put on Anastacia’s I’m Outta Love.
And the song that always gets her up on the dance floor is Malta’s Eurovision entry from 2000, Desire by Claudette Pace. This laid back party track gave the country an 8th place finish in the Grand Final. That’s well worth a boogie.
Serving Switzerland
When we asked Miriana what three things she associates with Switzerland, she said chocolate, the Swiss Alps, and – *ding ding ding* the correct answer – Nemo.
She can’t wait to explore the country, get to know the other artists, and most importantly, perform on the Eurovision stage. We’ll have everything she’s SERVING.
