Austria 2025: JJ premieres 'Wasted Love'
JJ will be representing Austria at Basel 2025
You can now listen to Austria's entry to the 69th Eurovision Song Contest - 'Wasted Love' by JJ.
The music video for Austria's song for Basel 2025 has premiered over on the official Eurovision Song Contest YouTube channel.
The video premiere also serves as the first time that people are getting to hear Wasted Love . Artist JJ is excited that not only can the audience now finally listen to it, but that they'll also learn what his Eurovision entry is all about:
“This song perfectly captures my experience with unreciprocated love. There’s a unique kind of heartbreak in having so much love to give but nowhere for it to land. It feels like being adrift at sea on a fragile paper boat; grasping at any sliver of hope, only to watch it dissolve beneath you. And yet, there’s something undeniably beautiful in that naïve devotion. Because, in the end, simply being able to love - no matter how wasted - is a beautiful thing in itself."
The music video for Wasted Love vividly portrays the intensity of these emotions and ends up leaving the viewer in suspense as to what JJ has planned for the big stage in May. With his rare vocal talent and a performance style that combines timeless artistry with contemporary energy, JJ aims to create a big show moment at the Eurovision Song Contest.
Wasted Love was written by the artist himself, along with Teodora Spiric and Thomas Turner.
