Serbia at the Eurovision Song Contest

Serbia debuted as an independent nation at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007; previously they had participated as part of Yugoslavia and also as one half of the union between Serbia and Montenegro.

They won on their first attempt when Marija Šerifović delivered a spellbinding performance of Molitva (‘Prayer’) in Helsinki.

Singer-songwriter Željko Joksimović delivered his country’s best result since their victory when he performed Nije Ljubav Stvar (‘Love Is Not A Thing’) at Baku 2012, finishing third.

Serbia has secured two Marcel Bezençon awards for artistry; the first went to Molitva in the year Marija won, and the second was given to Konstrakta for her avant-garde pop anthem In Corpore Sano (‘In A Healthy Body’) in 2022.
