United by Christmas Music: Some new festive favourites!

Good tidings we bring! A selection of festive pop gems from some of our recent Eurovision Song Contest stars, to switch up your seasonal listening in December.

Jaded from Jingle Bell Rock ? Weary with White Christmas ? Repetitive strain injury from Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree ?

Fear not; we sent over some season's greetings to a few of the new friends we've made recently in Liverpool, Turin and Rotterdam, and asked if they had some inspiration for winter-spicing up our Christmas playlists. And they delivered - gift-wrapped, and everything!

Here's a selection box of Christmas tunes we've curated from some of your Eurovision faves, and you don't even have to wait until Christmas Day to open them:

If the ghost of Edgar Allan Poe was alleged to have been behind the songwriting of TEYA & SALENA in May, then it's quite possible that the ghosts of Christmas past, present and yet to come that are guiding the quills of the Austrian duo this time. Though in all sincerity; the lyrics to Ho Ho Ho are so fiercely fabulous, that it could really only be these two megababes behind them.

When Iceland's Daði Freyr sits down to compose a Christmas tune, you can bet it's not going to sound like any of the others out there. And sure enough, Something Magical is so intrinsically Daði, that no one else could have penned it. The song even features a rhythmic rant about the monotony of having the same Christmas tunes on a loop annually - while offering up the perfect solution via its very existence. We see what he did there.

Swedish artist Tusse highlights the renowned community spirit of the season as the main theme of This Is Our Christmas Song . And like his Eurovision entry in 2021, Voices , he uses it as a call to the lonely millions out there, to assure them that he's right there with them.

Who better to take us to The North Pole than one of our favourite Poles himself - Rafał Brzozowski! His seasonal song Świąteczna Melodia exudes an open-fire warmth that's both inviting and intoxicating. Pop this on and you'll be able to smell the heady cocktail of pine needles and log burning from wherever you are in the world this Christmas.

British rocker Sam Ryder is engaged in a chart battle in the United Kingdom, with his offering You're Christmas To Me currently going toe to toe with Wham!'s Last Christmas for the coveted number one spot.

Our favourite galactic canines, Subwoolfer, thankfully hung around on planet Earth long enough to experience a Christmas here. Tragically, however, they were all out bananas; and Having Grandma Here For Christmas seems to imply that - as their Eurovision song for Norway predicted - that wolf really was intending on eating your Grandma after all.

This Christmas morning, we'll be letting Senhit take us to church. On Jesus, Oh What A Wonderful Child she delivers an adrenalina-fuelled gospel performance that makes even her Eurovision Song Contest performance for San Marino seem subdued in comparison. And just when you think it's all over, things really start to ramp up. Sing it, Senhit!

Good vibes only is the message behind Ochman's festive offering. On Christmas Vibes our Polish popstar takes the tempo down and serves us some Christmas chill. And at the end we're gifted with a truly splendid showcase of that award-winning voice of his.

You don't need a degree in Danish to work out what Fyr Og Flamme's festive bop Julekys is all about; they're after a Christmas kiss under the mistletoe. The smooch-seeking fellas have gone down the retro schlager root of producing the song, so that it sits snugly alongside the likes of Wizzard and Mariah.

Malta's Eurovision entry in 2023 saw The Busker sing of their desire to leave the social duties of a party at the absolute earliest opportunity. For their Christmas single, however, priorities have changed. It's winter - and so Nothing More has the boys yearning for warm snuggles with a special someone.

Surely Santa can't deny that La Zarra has "been an angel all year" ? And so when the chanteuse who represented France in Liverpool purrs her way through the festive classic Santa Baby , you can just tell that she's getting everything on that awfully long list.

Finally, what better way to wake up on Christmas 'Dayba', than to the sound of Santa's 'sleighba', as we prepare to celebrate the 'Bejba' Jesus. Look no further than Blanka's Solo - now with sleighbells included. Thank you, it's just what we've always wanted!
